Core Facilities
Microscopy
The PMU's Core Facility Microscopy provides state-of-the-art technical equipment for various microscopy needs and is involved in local, national and international co-operation projects.
Available are phase contrast and DIC light microscopy, immunofluorescence microscopy, multi-channel confocal microscopy and long-term observation of living cells under controlled environmental conditions.
Our Instruments:
The LSM 700 is a confocal laser scanning microscope on an Axio Observer.Z1 inverted base stand with motorised focus operation and DIC optics. An incubation chamber provides optimum conditions for long-term observation of living cells.
It is equipped with 10x, 20x, 40x oil and 63x oil objectives.
Applications:
- High-resolution multifluorescence images
- Z-stacks (3D)
- Live cell imaging

Terms of use
In order to use a device from the Core Facility, mandatory training on the respective device is required. As part of the training, users receive access to the booking calendar so that they can book microscopes independently, as well as key authorisation for the microscopy room.
