Target Group and Requirements
Eligible for this postgraduate program are individuals who have completed a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification (300 ECTS) in a field with a focus on nursing or related health sciences, ensuring a solid knowledge base. The number of study places is limited to a maximum of 10 per calendar year.
Proficiency in German (C1 level) and English (B2 level) is required.
Applications
The suitability of applicants is determined through a two-stage admission process, which must also be completed in the event of a change in research topic during the Ph.D. program in Nursing & Allied Health Sciences.
The submission of written application materials must be completed by January 31 of each calendar year, including transcripts and certificates of previous academic qualifications. Applicants must also submit a motivation letter of 1,000 to 1,500 words outlining their educational and career goals, and explaining why they wish to pursue scientific research within the Ph.D. program in Nursing & Allied Health Sciences.
Additionally, a research proposal (i.e., a detailed outline of research interests and methodological approach) of 2,500 to 3,000 words must be provided – refer to the available format in the download section. Applicants are selected based on defined guidelines by the Ph.D. Commission of the Institute of Nursing Science and Practice at Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) in Salzburg.
The university conducts an internal review of the submitted documents for completeness and accuracy.
