Research- and Innovation Centers (RIC)
The two Research and Innovation Centers at PMU— Regenerative Medicine & Novel Therapiesand Public Health & Healthcare research —were established in 2022.
Their primary aim to consolidate often diverse scientific projects into collaborative, consortium-based initiatives. Consortium projects involve at least three research working groups (Forschungsarbeitsgruppen, FoAGs) and are coordinated through the RIC. Through shared lecture series, seminars, and events, these working groups foster deeper collaboration, spark new ideas, and identify potential partners for future grant applications.
Both centers serve as platforms and catalysts for intensifying collaboration among research working groups (FoAGs) at the PMU and its university hospitals across various health science disciplines.
By combining expertise from different research fields, these centers help maximize the full potential of research at PMU and its university hospitals, significantly enhancing their visibility of a broader scale.
Regenerative Medicine & Novel Therapies (RM & NT)
The replacement of damaged tissues or organs in the human body is a central focus in regenerative medicine. Technological advances in recent years have opened up numerous new avenues, such as the generation of stable cell systems through induced pluripotent stem cells and innovative genetic techniques like gene editing.
These scientific fields involve complex approaches that demand a high level of collaboration. The same applies to the development of new therapies in biomedicine.
In this context, the RIC for Regenerative Medicine & Novel Therapies (RM & NT) provides a platform to promote enhanced collaboration between the university hospital and PMU.
