Teaching

Teaching future physicians is a core mission of our institute. In the traditional diploma program, the main Pharmacology lecture is held in the third year of study (cohorts 2021 and 2022). Under the new Bachelor curriculum, Pharmacology is introduced earlier, in the second year, and continues through the second and third years within the framework of an organ-based teaching approach that integrates clinically relevant content throughout.

We place strong emphasis on interactive, student-centered teaching that delivers practical, clearly structured knowledge. There is a continuous openness to innovative teaching methods, which are regularly evaluated and incorporated into the existing educational portfolio.

The chair of the department holds medical licensure in the United States (ECFMG-certified) and is well-versed in the content of the USMLE exams. While we recognize the significance of these milestone examinations, our courses are designed to go far beyond the scope of "First Aid for the USMLE." Our aim is to inspire genuine interest in Pharmacology as a multifaceted, interdisciplinary field—one that is deeply rooted in preclinical sciences yet remains highly relevant to everyday clinical practice.

The selection and emphasis of pharmacological agents are therefore consistently guided by up-to-date clinical guidelines, complemented by the instructor’s experience as a practicing internist.
