Institute for Neurointervention
Teaching

Classes

The Research Institute for Neurointervention conducts courses as part of the neurology lectures at the Paracelsus Medical Private University.

Tele-Learning

The implementation of tele-learning enables students to attend lectures by internationally renowned experts in both teaching and research. Instructors teach live on camera, allowing students to participate remotely from their computers. This platform fosters direct interaction between students and instructors, as well as among students.

Practical training

Alongside theoretical learning, the institute offers hands-on opportunities to apply knowledge. In partnership with leading neurointerventional medical device companies, we regularly hosts workshops and seminars.

  • Aneurysm (treatment of vascular dilations)
  • Intracranial stent (addressing the narrowing of brain arteries, e.g. middle cerebral artery, basilar artery, internal carotid artery)
  • Extracranial stent
  • Carotid stent (treatment of carotid artery stenosis)
  • Thrombectomy (removing blood clots from vessels)

Facilities

The institute is equipped with two advanced simulators for neurointerventional training and research: the Procedicus-VIST™ System (Mentice AB, Sweden) and the AngioMentor™ System (Simbionix Ltd, Israel). Both multidisciplinary simulators provide a safe, realistic environment for practicing endovascular procedures across various pathologies.

Workshops on interventional stroke therapy and aneurysm treatment emphasize instrument navigation and a deeper understanding of vascular anatomy. Training with these simulators, under expert supervision, has been shown to reduce procedure times by up to 30% and significantly lower error rates.
