Studying medicine – what can I expect?

The Human Medicine program at the PMU offers a modern and practice-oriented curriculum that optimally prepares you for your career as a physician. Interprofessional courses in collaboration with Pharmacy and Nursing Sciences guarantee extensive subject-specific competencies. With state-of-the-art research facilities and close ties to the University Hospital Salzburg and the Klinikum Nuremberg, we promote active collaboration. The path to your studies

From the information session to the start of studies: the Human Medicine program offers 135 enrollment spots annually - 80 in Salzburg and 55 in Nuremberg. Applications for the upcoming academic year are open starting in January.

After registering, you will be invited to take the written entrance exam.

After successfully completing the entrance test, the top applicants are invited to an interview.

Why Salzburg & Nuremberg?

Studying in Salzburg means being in the heart of the city, right in the beautiful old town, surrounded by numerous restaurants, bars, and cafés. When you need peace and fresh air, you can be in nature in just a few minutes by bike or bus, for example in the Hellbrunner Allee, the park at Schloss Hellbrunn, or the Waldbad Anif.

Nuremberg, the second largest city in Bavaria with 520,000 inhabitants, offers a picturesque old town and numerous cultural institutions. The surrounding countryside is ideal for hiking, climbing and swimming. The PMU campus is centrally located on the grounds of the Klinikum Nuremberg, promoting practical experience and cooperation.
