A medical program that can be completed in just 5 years

At the PMU, this is possible thanks to a well-structured and streamlined curriculum, shorter vacation periods, and small-group learning. With only 80 students in Salzburg and 55 in Nuremberg, we ensure each student receives personalized support, fostering close relationships between students, faculty, and alumni. Our students' well-being and delivering high-quality education are our top priorities.

Our approach emphasizes communication skills, solid theoretical foundations, and hands-on practical training, always keeping the patient at the center of medical care. Early patient interaction is a key focus, as we believe that alongside clinical expertise, the ability to engage with patients is what defines a great doctor. Our courses are regularly evaluated and updated to ensure continuous improvement.

A diverse curriculum that meets international standards

Our diverse curriculum is oriented on international standards, modelled after the Mayo Clinic Medical School, which also serves as our international partner. As a graduate of Paracelsus Medical University (PMU), you’ll have proven your competence by passing internationally recognized exams like USMLE 1 and the OSCE. You’ll also complete both a Bachelor's and Master's thesis, with the potential for publication in a scientific journal.

We are international! 

While the primary language of instruction at PMU is German, selected courses are also available in English. We collaborate with many international partners, offering you opportunities for clinical rotations, internships, and a four-month research trimester abroad.
