Institute for General-, Family- and Preventive Medicine
Accompanying course in general medicine
Accompanying seminars
The Institute for General-, Family-, and Preventive Medicine at the Paracelsus Medical University (PMU) organizes 18 full-day seminars over three years on topics related to general medicine. These seminars provide an important foundation to ensure that a general medicine perspective is maintained during rotations through the various hospital departments. They also regularly address topics and questions that may not arise in a hospital setting. Additionally, the exchange between experienced general practitioners and trainees fosters professional development and facilitates networking opportunities. These accompanying seminars thus offer a professional home during hospital rotations. Corresponding DFP points are awarded for participation.
Who can participate?
The accompanying seminars are intended for physicians in training for general medicine (ÄA02015) in the state of Salzburg from 2019 onwards. Invitations and scheduling information are sent via the hospital organisers approximately six weeks before each session. For inquiries, the organizing team at the PMU is also available to assist.
Sponsorship / Cooperation
The accompanying course is sponsored by the province of Salzburg (Land Salzburg) and the Austrian Health Insurance Organization (ÖGK).
The accompanying course is part of the "General Medicine Salzburg'' initiative. Its implementation is a joint effort between the Salzburg Society of General- and Family Medicine (SAGAM)(sagam.at) and the Salzburg Chamber of Physicians (Ärztekammer ÄK) (aeksbg.at).
